What Defines a Well-Rounded Education?
//Posted by Redd School

A well-rounded education reaches beyond a narrow range of academic subjects and test taking to provide a stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. While there are many components that go into creating an enriching curriculum, such as arts and literature, we believe these three factors are the foundation to a providing a well-rounded education.

Individualized Curriculum

Each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature. In our competitive society, it is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs. Classes are organized into age-appropriate sections that have been carefully tailored to meet the developmental needs of students in each phase of learning.

Lifelong Learners

We foster a diverse community where each student is taught that they can make a difference in the world. Our learning community promotes independence, builds confidence and strength in children which, in turn, allows students to celebrate diversities and share commonalities. The Redd School community embraces the diverse range of unique cultural, religious, and life experiences that prepares our students for participation in a complex and changing world.

Enrichment Activities

When students are engaged in pursuits of arts, drama, physical education, technological learning and extracurricular activities they are rewarded with a lifelong learning experience. We offer a full range of STEM activities beyond the classroom, such as robotics and coding and with other activities such as art, cooking, radio, chess, martial arts, swimming, and various sports clinics.

At Redd School, we understand that every student deserves access to a well-rounded curriculum that enables them to grow to their fullest potential, not just in reading and math, but the arts, physical activities, citizenship, technical education, and more. This is where standardization ends and a lifelong learning experience begins.
